The Australian Lion and Sun Association Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit community organisation established in Victoria, dedicated to preserving and advancing the rich cultural heritage of the Iranian people within Australia's multicultural society.
The Lion and Sun (Shir-o-Khorshid) — a symbol over 2,500 years old — is our unifying emblem, representing courage, wisdom, and light. It honours a shared civilisation while welcoming the full diversity of Iranian peoples.
We stand for freedom, human dignity, and the equal worth of every person. Through cultural and educational programming, we celebrate Iranian heritage while honouring the universal values of human rights and democratic participation that Australia holds dear.
We operate with the highest standards of governance, transparency, and inclusion — consistent with Victorian law and a deep commitment to diversity, gender equality, and the dignity of all.
To provide a structured, responsible, and inclusive platform for preserving and advancing Iranian cultural heritage — through culturally rich programming grounded in respect for human dignity, gender equality, and the flourishing of community.
To cultivate a thriving community where Iranian heritage is preserved, celebrated, and expressed with dignity — honouring the depth of Iranian civilisation while embracing the inclusive, democratic, and egalitarian values of contemporary Australia.
